Morgan James
Morgan James has a voice that needs to be heard, even when she was just a fifth grader belting out standards on a karaoke machine. Whether it’s tussling with unimaginative label executives, covering and owning songs by the likes of the Beatles, or casting a woman as Jesus, James has carved out an enviable career, always on her own terms.
After training at the Juilliard School, Morgan was on Broadway in five original Broadway companies, has appeared as a soloist with major orchestras around the world, and now makes records and tours full-time with her own band. With Postmodern Jukebox and with her own YouTube channel, Morgan’s music videos have accumulated more than 250 million views.
James has a particular taste for inserting herself into men’s spaces, twisting hyper-masculine songs to her will and changing their meanings in the process. That feminist lens is brought to the forefront in her most recent project, Soul Remains the Same, which reinterprets tracks from the likes of AC/DC, the Stone Temple Pilots, and Pearl Jam.

What’s Next for Morgan James?
Morgan's busy touring schedule hasn't let up; following the release of her newest album Soul Remains The Same, Morgan is starting 2026 off with shows in over 15 cities where she will be playing the new tunes with her full band. She will head off to Europe later in the year, and is eyeing a return to Asia as well. Not to mention her numerous upcoming symphony performances across the US with more to come.
